For investors
Mojave Hydrogen Works is developing Phase 1: a 40 MW solar-powered green hydrogen plant at Cadiz, California. This page summarizes the project for infrastructure investors and lenders, and how qualified parties can engage.
Investment highlights
The structure removes the risks that stall most hydrogen projects: power price, supply of water, and demand that depends on voluntary adoption.
Dedicated solar and battery storage on site. No power purchase agreement, no grid price risk and no wait in the grid interconnection queue.
Transit agencies under California's zero-emission bus rule, the ports' 2035 zero-emission truck goal and fee on diesel trucks, refiners under the Low Carbon Fuel Standard, public fleets, and power plants that can now earn renewable credit for burning green hydrogen under SB 1350.
The federal clean hydrogen production credit pays for ten years after start-up, on a sliding scale by carbon intensity. Mojave's dedicated solar is designed to target the top tier, subject to qualification. Construction must begin before January 1, 2028.
Our development partner holds an agreement for land at Cadiz Ranch and an annual water supply, expanded in 2026 to add solar.
A global renewable developer with a multi-gigawatt portfolio, including green hydrogen, leads permitting and engineering.
The same land, power and water support later phases: green ammonia for agriculture, on-site power for data centers and new sites across the West.
A new class of buyer. California now counts electricity from turbines burning at least 20% green hydrogen toward its Renewables Portfolio Standard. Utilities converting gas plants, starting with LADWP's $800 million Scattergood project due in 2029, will need green hydrogen from outside producers.

What remains
We would rather you hear the open items from us first.
California environmental review (CEQA) begins when the current development round closes. No permits have been issued yet.
Discussions are under way with port, mobility and industrial buyers. No binding offtake agreements have been signed, which is typical at this stage.
Arrangements with our development partner and the site's landowner remain subject to definitive agreements.
Imagery on this site is illustrative. The facility has not been constructed.
How to engage
We work with infrastructure funds, project finance lenders, strategic investors and offtakers.
A short call to understand your mandate and walk through the project.
A mutual NDA before any confidential material is shared.
Investor deck, financial model, capital structure, technical, site and water materials.
Diligence sessions with the sponsor team, and a site visit to Cadiz.
